Rugs and carpets — the textile foundation of a room. Handwoven jute, wool, natural fibres, and the larger-format pieces that anchor a space before the furniture even arrives.

About our rugs and carpets

Laiyahome's rugs and carpets collection brings together handwoven natural-fibre rugs (jute, seagrass, raffia), wool rugs, and larger-format textile pieces designed to anchor residential and hospitality interiors. The rug is often the most consequential textile decision in a room — defining the proportions of a seating area, anchoring the flooring, and bringing tactile warmth. Prices range from approximately €120 for smaller natural-fibre rugs to €1,800+ for larger handwoven statement pieces. The collection serves residential interiors, villa builds, and boutique hospitality projects across Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Greece, and Germany. Standard EU delivery 5-21 days from European stock; larger rugs ship via white-glove or palletised freight on request. Bespoke pricing for trade clients on orders of four or more pieces.

How to choose a rug size

Rug sizing depends on use and room proportion. For a living room: the rug should be large enough that at least the front legs of all seating sit on it — ideally all four legs of the sofa and lounge chairs. Common sizes: 200x300 cm for compact rooms, 240x340 cm for medium rooms, 300x400 cm for larger spaces. For dining rooms: the rug should extend 60-75 cm beyond the table edge on all sides so chairs stay on the rug when pulled out. For bedrooms: either a single large rug under the bed that extends 60-80 cm on the sides and foot, or smaller runners on each side of the bed.

Natural fibre vs wool rugs

Natural fibre rugs (jute, seagrass, sisal) are textural, warm-toned, and bring substantial weight to a room. Jute is the most refined of the natural fibres, with a golden tone and softer hand than seagrass or sisal. Wool rugs are softer underfoot, more visually refined, and available in dyed colour ranges that natural fibres don't offer. Many considered interiors layer the two: a jute base rug for textural anchor, with a smaller wool rug on top in the primary use area (under the coffee table, for example) for softness underfoot.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I buy luxury rugs in Spain?

Laiyahome ships handwoven luxury rugs across Spain in 5-21 days from European stock. Larger rugs ship via white-glove or palletised freight on request.

How much does a handwoven jute rug cost?

Small jute rugs (120x180 cm): €120-€250. Standard size (200x300 cm): €280-€480. Larger living room sizes (240x340 cm to 300x400 cm): €500-€900. Oversized statement rugs: €900-€1,800+.

Are jute rugs comfortable underfoot?

Jute has a firmer, more textural feel than wool — some prefer this, others prefer wool's softness. Many designers layer jute as a base with a smaller wool rug on top for the best of both qualities.

How do I clean a natural-fibre rug?

Vacuum regularly with a low-suction setting. Spot-clean spills immediately with a damp cloth and dry quickly. Avoid harsh chemicals or excessive water, which can damage the fibres. Quality natural-fibre rugs last 10-20 years with this care.
